EdSpan Global, LLC (“EdSpan,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of the individuals and organizations who visit and use our website and services. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website and use any of our services, including our partner and school directory, AI-guided sector resources, school-mediated projects, and opportunity pathways (collectively, the “Services”). EdSpan connects corporate partners, schools, and learners through the Opportunity Network (the coordinated set of Services described above). EdSpan’s Services are offered to companies and schools, and any learner-facing content is delivered exclusively through and under the supervision of partner schools, as described further in Section 3 below.
By accessing or using our Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Personal Information: Name, email address, organization name, role, and other identifying information you voluntarily provide when contacting us, inquiring about a partnership, or registering as a partner or school.
- Account Information: Username, password, and preferences associated with your partner or school portal account.
- Partner and School Information: Sector expertise, company profile content, case studies, project materials, and other information voluntarily submitted by corporate partners or schools for use in the Directory, AI tools, Projects, or Pathways features of the Services.
- Usage Information: Information about how you interact with our website, including pages visited, time spent, browser type, IP address, device identifiers, and referring URLs.
- Communications: Messages, inquiries, and feedback you send to us directly.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve our Services, including the Directory, AI tools, Projects, and Pathways features of the Opportunity Network;
- Communicate with you about your account, subscriptions, or inquiries;
- Personalize your user experience and provide relevant recommendations;
- Process payments and manage your account;
- Comply with applicable legal obligations; and
- Analyze usage trends to improve the quality and functionality of our platform.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Partner and School Data
EdSpan’s Services are directed at corporate partners and schools, not at individual learners. EdSpan does not directly collect personal information from students or other minors. Any content, guidance, projects, or opportunities made available to learners are delivered exclusively through, and under the supervision of, partner schools, consistent with the commitments described on our website, including that partners may not directly solicit learners and do not receive learner behavioral or interest data through the Services. Partner schools are responsible for their own compliance with applicable student privacy laws, including COPPA and FERPA, with respect to their own students.
Learner interactions facilitated through the EdSpan Opportunity Network are governed by the safeguarding and child protection policy of the partner school through which the learner is enrolled. EdSpan does not independently collect, solicit, or store learner data; all learner engagement is school-mediated and subject to that school’s applicable safeguarding, privacy, and data protection standards.
4. AI-Generated Guidance
Certain Services, including sector explainers and learner-safe guidance tools, are powered in part by artificial intelligence trained on content approved by EdSpan, corporate partners, or partner schools. These tools are designed to answer only from approved content and are not a substitute for professional, academic, or counseling advice. EdSpan does not use these tools to collect personal information directly from learners, and schools may configure or restrict the content available to their learners through these tools.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience on our website. These may include essential cookies necessary for the operation of the site, as well as analytics and performance cookies that help us understand how users interact with our platform. You may manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings at any time. For more information about the specific cookies we use, please contact us at privacy@edspanglobal.com.
6. Disclosure of Your Information
We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: Trusted third-party vendors who assist us in operating our platform and delivering our Services (e.g., hosting, payment processing, analytics, and AI/machine learning providers), subject to confidentiality obligations;
- Schools and Partners: With partner schools or corporate partners as necessary to facilitate a specific engagement you or your organization has requested (for example, connecting a company profile to a school-mediated project), subject to the school-mediated limits described in Section 3;
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, or valid legal process;
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our business, with appropriate notice to affected users. In such cases, we will require that the acquiring entity honor the commitments made in this Privacy Policy with respect to your personal information; and
- With Your Consent: In any other circumstances where you have provided explicit consent.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our Services and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or anonymize it.
8. Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s Privacy
EdSpan’s Services are not directed at children and are not designed to collect personal information directly from individuals under the age of 18. To the extent learners interact with EdSpan-powered content (such as AI-guided sector resources or school-mediated projects), that interaction occurs exclusively through and under the supervision of a partner school, including safeguarding and child protection matters, which are likewise governed by the partner school’s own policies, and EdSpan does not independently collect, store, or process personal information from those learners. If you believe EdSpan has inadvertently collected personal information directly from a child, please contact us immediately at the address below and we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@edspanglobal.com. We will respond to your request in accordance with applicable law.
11. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Services following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
13. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
